The 58th Annual Meeting of the International Whaling Commission (IWC) is being held from 16 to 20 June, 2006 at the St. Kitts Marriott Resort & the Royal Beach Casino in Frigate Bay, St. Kitts, West Indies. The website “Kujira Portal” will broadcast to the world the IWC meeting’s highlights and press conferences.

Anticipating heated discussion on issues related to whales and whaling by anti-whaling and pro-whaling delegates at this year’s IWC meeting, we will broadcast the IWC Plenary Meeting to the world through the internet as we did at the last year’s meeting.

The purpose of this broadcast is to promote the correct understanding on the nature and content of the discussions being held there. Live and digested version will be offered through the web page “IWC internet broadcasting page”(www.e-kujira.or.jp/iwc/iwcmeeting.html) starting from 16 June 2006.
