Greenpeace zodiac with crew of two approaches the Nisshin Maru. Nisshin Maru radioed the following message both in English and Japanese to the Esperanza: “From now on the NM will come alongside the OBB. Please stay clear from the OBB port side and the NM starboard side. It is extremely dangerous to enter the space between both vessels. Any accidents resulting will be the sole responsibility of Greenpeace”.
グリーンピースのゴムボートが日新丸に接近。日新丸がグリーンピース船「エスペランサ」にVHFで以下を伝える：「本船（NM）はこれからOBBと横付けする。OBBの左舷、NMの右舷をさけよ。非常に危険である。さもなくば、すべての事故はグリーンピース側の責任である（英・日）」。
